Specialist
Job
Summary: The
Development specialist, working in conjunction with the Managing
Director, is responsible for grant writing and fundraising and
administrative coverage of the CACHE business office. The
Development Specialist is accountable for achieving effective and
measurable management and financial outcomes. The Development
Specialist promotes a safe environment, performs all job
responsibilities in a safe manner, and maintains administrative and
professional competency.
Essential Functions:

Supports and promotes the mission
of CACHE and implements its philosophy and objectives

Provides CACHE business office
coverage

Seeks and obtains funding
-
Works cooperatively with Managing
Director, Board of Directors, interns, volunteers, community
groups, local agencies and funding sources

Functions independently and
recognizes when consultation is appropriate
Job
Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides administrative coverage
for the CACHE business office on a daily basis
-
Researches potential grant funding
and makes application as appropriate

Researches and identifies sources
of funding in addition to grants
-
Monitors grant revenues and
provides expenditure reports

Attends Board of Directors
meetings
-
Provides Board of Directors a
written report on grant activity at each meeting
-
Maintains and demonstrates
professional competency and adheres to CACHE policies,
procedures and protocols
Marginal Functions
Physical Requirements
Performs most work under normal office
conditions. May include sitting, standing, or walking. Repetitive
wrist motion. Occasional lifting of 10 pounds. Requires excellent
verbal and written communication in English. Requires travel to
current and potential funders, Board meetings and other CACHE events
as appropriate. Use of vehicle is required. Intact sight and
hearing with or without assistive devices is required.
Education, Training, and Experience
-
Masters degree in Non Profit
Management, Health Administration, Public Health, Business
Administration or related field preferred.

At least five years of experience
working in a fundraising capacity for a non-profit organization

Experience in administration and
management of an office.

Experience in grant writing and
fund raising

Experience in working with
volunteers and volunteer boards
Machines, Tools, and Equipment
All related office equipment and supplies.
